	The genesis of this event reaches back two hundred years, to the era when cargo between Baltimore and Norfolk moved under sail, generating a fierce rivalry between these historic ports. Swift schooners vied for prime markets for bay-area oysters, watermelons, peanuts and other crops. The schooner reaching port soonest got the best prices and first choice among return cargoes, and such lucrative trade inspired development of fast, beautiful, weatherly fore-and-aft-rigged designs, of which the Gypsy Rover is one example.
	Seanchai (pronounced Shawn'-a-key) is a 50-foot Gulfstar cutter-rigged Ketch of more than 20 tons. With all of her primary sails set, she will spread over one thousand square feet of gracefully curving canvas to the winds of the Chesapeake Bay. This classic yacht is one of the most elegant sailing vessels on the Chesapeake Bay and is fully equipped for your comfort and safety, complete with a licensed captain.
	Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or someone who would like to step on board for the first time, Sailing Singles of South Florida is for you. Becoming a member can open your world to new, blue, horizons. We are nice people offering sailing, social activities and educational classes. It’s a great way to meet other singles!
